Hosted our bi-annual workshop on tobacco taxation, with participants from the Ministries of Finance and Health of six different countries: Jamaica, Indonesia, Nigeria, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Togo. Representatives from think-tanks based in Sri Lanka, Ghana, and the UK also attended the event. Participated in the stakeholder consultation process regarding the draft tobacco control bill in Sierra Leone.

Capacity building event for the Indonesian Ministry of Health on tobacco taxation; tobacco taxation workshop for civil society; and a high-level policy meeting on tobacco taxation all in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Attended the technical tax meeting hosted by the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids in London, United Kingdom.

Attended a workshop titled "Smoking - medical, social aspects and legislative changes" in Prague, Czech Republic. Dr Hana Ross of the Knowledge Hub served as Keynote Speaker at the event, presenting the topic of "Tobacco tax and Economic Prosperity".

Participated in the expert panel on the Illicit Trade protocol meeting at the FCTC Secretariat in Geneva.

May 2017

Dr. Hana Ross delivers a key note address, "Why are high tobacco taxes good for economic development?", to the Slovenian Ministry of Health on World No Tobacco Day.

Attended the third meeting on South-South and Triangular Cooperation to promote implementation of the WHO FCTC in the era of the SDGs, hosted in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Attended the sixth McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer's intensive legal training course in Melbourne, Australia.

With funding from Vital Strategies, members of the Knowledge Hub presented a three-day workshop on tobacco taxation to National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
