The team of the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on surveillance took part at the 17th Annual Congress of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco Europe Chapter, which was held in Prague, Czech Republic, on September 8-10, 2016. This was the first public appearance and presentation of the FCTC Knowledge Hub on surveillance, and the scenery fitted perfectly since the conference went under slogan “Translating quality science into quality practice”. The organisers allocated a time-slot for the satellite symposium of the Knowledge Hub. This time was effectively used for the overall presentation of the KH network, its goals and purposes, a deeper outlook of the KH on surveillance and its specific tasks, and a brief update on the tobacco surveillance practices and issues in the global perspective. The recently published leaflet of the KH on surveillance was distributed at the conference.
