The legislative process leading to the ratification of the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products has come to an end in France on 26 October 2015.

Under the French constitutional practice, a ratification law is an authorization given by the Parliament to the Government to ratify an international treaty. The Governement is currently preparing the formal instrument of ratification to complete this procedure and deposit that instrument at the UN treaty section.
