Burkina Faso – Decrees adopted to ensure effective implementation of the 2010 tobacco control act
OCTOBER 2011 -With a view to ensuring the effective implementation of the countrys 2010 tobacco control act, on 30 October 2011 the Council of Ministers adopted three decrees on:
– the creation, powers, composition and functioning of the National Committee for Tobacco Control. The Committee will be multisectoral in its composition and will assist the Ministry of Health in implementing the WHO FCTC;
– defining and regulating smoking in public places and public transport; and
– packaging and labelling of tobacco products.

Burkina Faso – Adoption de décrets pour assurer l’application effective de la loi de 2010 relative à la lutte antitabac
OCTOBRE 2011 – Afin d’assurer l’application effective de la loi de 2010 relative à la lutte antitabac, le Conseil des ministres burkinabé a adopté, le 30 octobre 2011, trois décrets sur :
– la création, les attributions, la composition et le fonctionnement du Comité national de lutte contre le tabac, qui sera multisectoriel et aidera le Ministère de la Santé à appliquer la Convention-cadre de l’OMS pour la lutte antitabac ;
– les lieux publics clos et les transports publics où il est interdit de fumer ; et
– le conditionnement et l’étiquetage des produits du tabac.
